3rd Marking Period by Archana Dhyani

Assignment #21A


I used Google SketchUp 8. I saved it as a .SKP and .JPEG. I used the Line tool to make the triangle. I used the Rectangle tool and the Circle tool to make the rectangle and the circle. I changed the camera to Standard view-Front.

I used Google SketchUp 8. I saved it as a .SKP and .JPEG. To make the shapes into 3-D I used the Push and Pull tool.

Assignment #23 Gingerbread House

I used Google Sketchup 8. I saved it as a .SKP and .JPEG. I used the rectangle tool to make the body and the roof of the house. I used the Circle tool  to make the candy on the house and to make the candy canes. I used the Line tool to make the patterns on the candy. I used the Push and Pull tool. Lastly, I used the Paint bucket tool to fill in the colors. 
Then, I used Adobe Photoshop CS5 to combine both pictures together into one document and I put the original one in the middle with the labels. 


Assignment #24

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .PSD and .JPEG. I first opened the background picture. Then I opened the gingerbread house picture and used the Magnetic Lasso tool to cut it out and pasted it in the background picture. I duplicated the gingerbread house layer. I moved the copy to the right 15 times. I unchecked the Red from the copied layer and in the original layer I unchecked the Green and Blue to make it look 3-D.  


Assignment #25



I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .PSD and .GIF. I used the Ellipse tool. The effects I gave were Drop Shadow and Color Overlay. The filters I used were Filter > Noise > Add Noise and 
Filter > Blur > Radial Blur.  The effects I gave to the power symbol were Inner Shadow, Outer Glow and Gradient Overlay. I gave it the color green. Then, I made two groups 'Glow' and 'Button'. I converted them to Frame Animations. Then I went to Tween. I got 5 more frames. I selected all the 7 frames and duplicated them. The 7-14 frames I reversed them. Then I changed the time for each frame to 'No Delay'. 


Assignment #25 (Extra Credit)


I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .PSD and .GIF. I used the Text tool. The effects I gave to my name were Drop Shadow and Color Overlay, Inner Shadow, Outer Glow and Gradient Overlay. The blending options for the room was Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay. I used the Ellipse tool for the lights. Its Blending Options were Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss-Contour, Satin and Color Overlay. I used the Polygonal lasso tool to make the light from the top. I used the Magnetic Lasso tool to cut out the picture of myself. I used the Elliptical Marquee tool to make the lights on the wall and on the floor. The filter used in that was Blur-Gaussian Blur. I used the Paintbrush tool to make the shadow.  Lastly, I used the Text tool to type the text.


Assignment #27
I used Microsoft Publisher. I saved it as a.JPEG, .PUB and .PDF. The brochure was mainly about my schedule and all the things I've studied this semester. I used the Text box tool for the texts and the heading. I learnt a lot of things in Multimedia. I learnt how to edit pictures using Adobe Photoshop and learning how to use its various filters, making brochures using Publisher, I also learnt how to make and update my blog. I learnt how to make things from scratch and that too digitally using Adobe Illustrator. I learnt how to make houses and blocks using Google Sketchup and learning how to use its tools.

2nd Marking Period by Archana Dhyani

Assignment #11
I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as a .JPG and .PSD. In total i had 12 layers to make this flyer. I used the Gradient tool for the background. I used 3 different effects: glass effect, plastic effect and the 'crazy' text effect. I used the glass effect on the picture, the plastic effect on my name and the 'crazy' text effect i used only halfway for the title of the club. To make the effect on the title, in the 1st layer go to Blending options and select stroke. Copy the layer. In the copied layer choose the stroke. Press CTRL and right click on the 'fx' button on the layer and choose 'Create Layer'. Do the same for the other layer. And that's how i got my effect on the title.

Assignment #12
I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .PSD and .JPG. In total I had 4 layers. I opened the picture and the texture i wanted. I clipped both the layers, so the texture was applied on the dress. I changed the Layer Mode from Normal to Color Dodge and I decreased the opacity to 72%. Then, I put the original picture to the left of the edited picture by changing the format of the document.

Assignment #13
I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as a .JPG and .PSD. I opened the Hershey chocolate bar first and deleted the chocolate using the Magnetic Lasso Tool. Then I opened the Granola bar, re-sized it and fitted it in the Hershey wrapper. In the Blending options I applied the Outer Glow effect. I used the Text tool to type the information I found on Google.    


Assignment #14

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .PSD and .JPG. First, I opened a picture of a pumpkin. I applied a solid brown color in the background. The effects I put in the pumpkin was Inner Glow. Then I used the Pen tool to draw its face and to put my initials on the pumpkin. Then I merged all the layers of the shapes together and the effects I used were: Inner Shadow, Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke. I used the Text tool to type the text. Then I used the Paint tool to make the 'light' under the pumpkin. 


Assigment #15a

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as a .JPG and .PSD. I first opened the brick picture and then the flag picture. I changed the blending of the flag into Hard Light, I copied the brick layer and de-saturated it. Then I went to Filter-Blur-Gaussian blur. Then I selected the Flag layer and went to Filters-Distort-Displace. Then I went to the brick layer and changed the Blending options to Hard light and set the Opacity to 80%. After all this I put the original pictures on the top and in the middle I typed the text using the Text tool. 

Assignment #15b

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .JPG and .PSD. I first opened the picture of DiCaprio and then opened the flag picture. I changed the blending of the flag to Hard Light. I copied the face and desaturated it. Then I went to Filter-Blur-Gaussian blur. Then I selected the Flag layer and went to Filters-Distort-Displace. Then I went to the face picture and changed the Blending option to Hard Light and set the Opacity to 80%. I used the smudge tool to make it look a bit more realistic. I used the Eraser tool to erase some of the parts of the flag away from his beard, eyes and eyebrows. After all this, I put the original pictures on the top and in the middle. I typed the text using the Text tool.

Assignment #16

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as a .JPG and .PSD. I first opened the picture. Then I went to Filters-Blur-Motion blur, The angle I chose was -8 and Distance was 25 pixels. Then using the Brush tool (a Soft-Edge Brush) I cleared up the filter from the car so that the filter doesn't affect the car but only affects the background. Then I changed the Canvas Size of the document to show the 'before' and 'after' effects, I used the Type tool to type the text. 


Assignment #17
I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved ti as a .JPG and .PSD. I first opened the picture. I clicked on the Quick Mask mode. I used the Paint Brush tool and chose the color black. I started painting on the place I want to select which here its the lips. Once it was red enough I turned off the Quick mask mode, the dashed lines indicate the area I painted. After this, I changed the Canvas Size to put the Original and the After effect picture. Then I used the Text tool to type the text.


Assignment #18

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5. I saved it as .JPG and .PSD. I first opened the picture. I went to Filters-Convert to smart filters. Then I went to Filters-Blur-Gaussian Blur. The radius was 5 pixels. I changed the Blending mode of the picture to Screen. I chose the Paintbrush tool and selected the Airbrush mode. I changed the Opacity to 40%.  I painted on those parts of the face which I wanted to come out. Here its, eyebrows, eyes and the lips. After that I decreased the Opacity of the picture to 70%. Then I changed the Canvas size to put both pictures. I used the Text tool to type the text. 


SUMMARY OF PHOTOSHOP

In Adobe Photoshop CS5 I learnt:
  •  How to select objects using Magic Wand tool, Magnetic Lasso tool and the Quick Mask tool. 
  • About various filters like Blur-Gaussian Blur, Motion Blur and Distort-Displace.
  •  How to use the Paintbrush tool not to just fill in colors but using it to bring out effects. Like stamping various patterns using the Brush tool and learning how to use the Airbrush mode. 
  • The different blending modes I learnt for different layers were, Screen, Hard Light, Desaturate,  and Color Dodge. 
  • How to use the Pen tool to make various shapes. 
  • The various text effects like Plastic, Glass and the 'Crazy' text. 
  • How to change different types of opacities.
  • Filling in the color using Paint Bucket tool and the Paint Brush tool.
  • How to add, delete, copy and merge layers.   

Assignment #19

I use Adobe Illustrator. I saved it as a PDF and a JPEG. I used the Rectangle tool to make the body, the steps (at the top of the body), to make the squares at the top and to make the two small rectangles inside the square. I used the Rounded Rectangle tool to make the inner rectangle. I used the Pen tool to make the line that divides the two small rectangles at the top. I used different types of black gradients and their opacities for the whole USB drive. Then I used the text tool to type the text. 


Assignment #20

I used Adobe Illustrator. I saved it as a PDF and .JPEG. I used the rectangle tool, Line tool, Ellipse tool, Text tool, Gradient tool, and the Rounded Rectangle tool, Pen tool, . The various effects I used were Blur-Gaussian blur, Path-Offset Path, Stylize-Round corners, Stylize-Inner Glow, Stylize-Outer Glow, Effect-Distort and Transform, Stylize-Drop Shadow. I used various measurements of opacities. I grouped shapes in order to add effects or move all of them instead of doing it one by one. The various gradients I used were Linear and Radial. I used the Text tool to type the text.
